Good News – Lyndhurst Boxing Day Fun Run is ON!
After three successful years, the organisers of the Boxing Day Run were running low on energy – we thought we might need to take a break this year.
Now, we are delighted to say that the Run will go ahead again this year, thanks to the participation of New Forest Junior Athletics Club. Rob Norris, coach at NFJAC and Lyndhurst resident, has joined the team, and will be in charge of the event on the day, helped by additional volunteers from NFJAC.
Everyone is welcome – it isn’t a race, it’s about being there! The 5k Run will be timed, so you can see if you have improved since last year or set a target to beat next time. The 2k family Event is suitable for all the family – run, walk or bring your scooter. Every generation can join in. This Community Centre event will raise much-needed funds for Lyndhurst Food Bank.
If you aren’t a runner, remember we also need marshals on the course and help in the Community Centre kitchen for 2 or 3 hours between 9 and 12on Boxing Day. Please text or call 07968063126.
